Barely a few hours after Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro announced the 23-man squad for the AFCON qualifier match against Sierra Leone in Monrovia, football lovers have expressed their reactions condemning the team list.
The various reactions have gone viral on the different new media platforms, including the microblogging site, Twitter, among others.
Recall, Peseiro had included 30-year-old team captain, Ahmed Musa, as one of the attackers for the upcoming match.
However, the coach’s decision didn’t go down well with some Super Eagles fans who insist that Musa’s name must be dropped from the team’s list.
A user by the handle, @KhamisAbiodun tweeted, “I think Musa should have retired from the National team by now. The man is already a legend of the game home n abroad. He should join the coaching staff not the player squad.”
Another tweep, @Ka_tchie wrote, “Wetin Ahmed Musa still dey do for National Team bayii?”
@TiminiofMile2 stated, “Abeg make this coach kuku dey put ighalo instead of Musa na.”
Some others criticised the list on the absence of some players.
