Below are all the details for the 2022 FA Cup quarterfinal draw.
Wednesday will see Luton Town, who currently occupy the final Championship playoff spot, hosting Chelsea. The second-tier side will be hoping to compound the cup misery for Thomas Tuchel’s Blues, who lost the 2022 League Cup final to Liverpool on Feb. 27.
The lone non-league side Boreham Wood (fifth division), who are third in the National League, travel to face Everton. The Hertfordshire club has gone deeper in the FA Cup than they have in the FA Trophy (competition for teams in fifth division through eighth division).
Outside of Boreham Wood, every other team in the Round of 16 hails from the Championship (noted with a “CH”) or Premier League.
When are the FA Cup quarterfinals played?
The quarterfinals will be spread across the weekend of March 18-20. With a full slate of Premier League matches and all but two Championship teams scheduled for league action that same weekend, there will be some rescheduling necessary.
Roughly a month later, the quarterfinal winners will face off in the semis on the weekend of April 16, while the final will be held at Wembley on May 14.
Round of 16 (Fifth Round): Tuesday-Monday, March 1-7
Quarterfinals: Saturday-Sunday, March 19-20
Semifinals: Saturday, April 16
Final: Saturday, May 14
Unlike the first two rounds of the competition, every match remaining in the competition must be decided on the day it is played, with no chance of a replay.
If the game finishes in a draw, then it will proceed into a 30-minute extra time period. If the score is still level after extra time, the game will be decided by a penalty-kick shootout.
