Although Granada are yet to win this La Liga (LL) campaign (D3, L2), they are one of several sides in such a predicament. However, even the most pessimistic of Granada fans can take positives from their most recent game, where they led Barcelona for almost the whole match before a 90th minute equaliser broke Granada hearts (1-1).

Nearly securing victory at Barcelona, even if the Catalan giants look a shadow of their former selves, is still something worth celebrating and could be the catalyst Granada need to end a five-game winless run at home in LL (D2, L3).

That’s actually their longest winless league run here since an eight-game streak in their last relegation campaign, but a match vs Real Sociedad could provide the respite Granada need, as one of their only two home league wins since March came against this game’s opponents.

The hosts will therefore be eyeing Sociedad’s lengthy injury list with glee as they look for that first league win, but even without key players Sociedad have still been hard to beat this LL campaign (W3, D1, L1).

In fact they travel as favourites after a solid defensive showing against Sevilla last time out (0-0) gave them a fourth straight LL clean sheet.Following their 2-0 win at Cádiz in their last trip, Sociedad are now looking to notch back-to-back away successes for the first time in 2021.

A win ‘to nil’ – as they’ve managed in two of their previous four trips here – would also give Sociedad a fifth consecutive LL clean sheet for the first time since 1997!Players to watch: Luis Suárez has scored both of Granada’s home league goals this season, including one opener. Injury-plagued Sociedad will hope Alexander Sørloth can score his first goal for the club after he netted for Norway during the recent international break.

Hot stat: Sociedad have failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their five league trips directly following a LL away win this calendar year (D3, L2)
